Each of the buildings are papered over inside with $1 Bills, all dating from 2006, after the entire complex of buildings were destroyed by fire and then rebuilt.
The 30-minute wait time for a table went quickly as we enjoyed the candy store and the gift shop, which were crowded as well. Reservations are not taken, so we were given a beeper and allowed to roam among the shops. But even on this Wednesday, lots of other people had the same idea. We arrived close to noon, which was the plan, as we were coming for lunch. Then the fun 'Old West' feel when one arrives is just frosting on the cake. It's also a fun motorcycle drive and lots of Harley groups make this trip. It's a beautiful and scenic drive across Apache Junction and around Canyon Lake to get there and our guests were impressed with the drive through the Tonto National Forest. This was exactly the right place to bring them. We had some out of town visitors from back East.
